Jadi, lagu ini menceritakan seseorang yang mencintai orang lain, mungkin mereka pernah pacaran terus putus. Sayangnya, mereka nggak putus baik-baik. Bisa dilihat dari alinea (apa? alinea?) maksudnya bait pertama lagunya.

Jadi bisa dibilang si pria disini sakit mendengar apa yang dinyatakan oleh pacarnya. Sayangnya, dia nggak bisa benci pacarnya karena dia masih sayang. Dia juga nggak bisa terus cinta sama pacarnya karena mereka udah nggak bisa bareng lagi. Pacarnya bilang, dia mau pergi aja, tapi si pria takut. Ya, dia nggak bisa lepas dari pacarnya itu.

Si pria nggak bisa menerima perkataan pacarnya itu. Rasanya sakit banget, sampai dibilang "hot and poisonous". Kata-kata itu beneran bikin si pria kehilangan feeling dia ke pacarnya yang masih tersisa. Ternyata, mungkin emang hati pacarnya itu udah beku sehingga dia melontarkan kata-kata sadis yang sukses bikin si pria sakit hati banget. Si pria sadar, pacarnya udah nggak ada di sisinya lagi. Dia sampai berpikir, mungkin akan lebih baik kalau dia dan pacarnya nggak pernah menjalin hubungan apa-apa dari awal.

"Kata-kata yang manis, silahkan ucapkan. Ucapkan lagi semua kata yang buatku tertawa, tetapi jangan yang membuatku sakit.." 

Mungkin seperti itu apa yang dipikir oleh si pria. Lagi-lagi, dia nggak bisa cinta ataupun benci. Pacarnya bilang, si pria bakalan bisa melupakan semuanya seiring dengan waktu. Tapi mungkin pacarnya lupa, semuanya nggak sesederhana itu.

Sama kayak kita nulis pakai pensil di kertas putih, terus dihapus. Mau sebersih apa dihapusnya juga pasti akan ada jejaknya.

Si pria berharap kalau semuanya bisa kembali, kembali ke saat pacarnya belum mengenalnya. Dia berpikir, jangan sampai terjadi yang seperti ini lagi, karena rasanya sakit sekali. Sakit. 

Nah, yang bagian reff yang diulang tiga kali itu memang diulang-ulang karena memang itu reff (ya iyalah) dan juga meyakinkan kalau si pria memang berharap kalau semuanya nggak pernah terjadi.
